GETTING STARTED!

WELCOME TO VESC! (onewheel or funwheel)

Firstly, we want to thank you for joining this project and community. This project has been built on the back of hundreds of hours of laborious work, time, and experimentation from countless people. You're not just buying a product, but joining a movement. We're glad to have you here, let's get started! There's a few things you should do before you even start riding.

1) JOIN THE DISCORD!
  • The Discord server is where you'll have a direct line of communication to us for troubleshooting/ customer service, or general help. We also post semi regular updates on our products, issues, and what're we are generally doing at the moment. In order to use our products, you should really be in there to get assistance or else you'll be swimming in the dark. Here is a link to the server, jump in and message @fungineerssupport for any help

2) Watch the, "INTRO TO VESC (onewheel)" start up video.
  • This video will help guide you through your initial start up, troubleshooting, and tuning of your board. If you haven't heard of VESC before, you should know this is a very complicated software. It's very detailed, customizable, and in-depth. It'll take years for any one person to master. You're not jumping into a super easy, simple device like other mainstream PEVs, but one that is very deep and nuanced. But learning this program will help you master and ride with confidence unlike any other device. The I2V video will serve as a great introduction to our scene and will give you a basic grasp of it all. Please do NOT continue without watching this- it is extremely important.

Charging Guidelines

  • Use only the official charger to avoid damage.
  • Charge in a well-ventilated area and avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Don't overcharge or undercharge—charge at least once every month to maintain battery health.
  • Disconnect the charger properly—press the release button before pulling it out.
  • Periodically leave the charger attached overnight to allow the battery pack to balance.

Storage Guidelines

  • Store at mild temperatures—avoid extreme heat or cold.
  • Check the battery every 2 weeks—if it drops below the recommended range, charge it fully and then drain it back to 80% before storing again.

Warranty

  • Please note that your Board is covered under 1 year repair or replacement warranty. Not following the above and leaving the battery uncharged for longer than 3-4 weeks can drain the battery to critical levels and cause irreversible damage which is not covered under warranty.

We are NOT affiliated with VESC, The Float Life, Surfdado, TheBoardGarage, Nico Aleman, Jayisdoingstuff, Float Control, or Floaty in any way.
