Everything you need to know about: The GTFO kit
The GTFO kit is a complete GT overhaul VESC kit that will replace the controller, BMS, AND motor of your current GT build. This will take your mid GT build and put it on par with a high voltage VESC. This kit is the closest you can get to plug and play. And YES! This WILL work with your XRC!

We've identified a failure mode affecting Thor controllers related to CAN bus / VESC Express connections. In these cases, damage occurs when both the CAN cable and battery XT60 are connected- the XT60 can sometimes be plugged in "uneven" letting the positive make contact right before the negative during the plug-in. This brief imbalance can cause current to route through the CAN transceiver, leading to failure. You'll know it's dead when the VESC Express, Thor, and VBMS can no longer "see" one another. We've found this happens most commonly on GTFO / GTSFO kits, but theoretically it's still possible on X7 builds as well.
To prevent this:
(the video guide will NOT instruct this, we found this out too late!)

GTFO Programming guide-
Set up values;
(These values are found in the initial Motor Wizard)
S-Count: 18
P-Count: 2
Capacity: 8.4ah, Full Voltage 75.6v, Empty Voltage 54v
Discharge Current Max: 80a
Charge Current Max: -45a
Motor Set Up Values (The CURRENT values used for a Superflux don't work for a Hypercore, vice versa)
(These are found under MOTOR CFG - GENERAL - CURRENT)
Superflux Current Values:
Motor Current Max: 160a
Motor Current Max Break: -160a
Absolute Maximum Current: 240a
Hypercore Current Values:
Motor Current Max: 120a
Motor Current Max Break: -120a
Absolute Maximum Current: 180a
(These values are found in MOTOR CFG - VOLTAGE)
Low Voltage Motor Cut offs; 45v Start (2.5 x S-Count), 41.4v End (2.3 x S-Count)
(These values are found in REFLOAT - SPECS)
High and Low Voltage Pushbacks: HVT - 77.4v (4.3 x S-Count), LVT - 54v (3 x S-Count)
(This value is found in MOTOR CFG - FOC - FIELD WEAKENING)
FIELD WEAKENING:40a at 60%
SETTING UP YOUR LEDS
The GTFO kit will not have it's LEDs preconfigured, luckily it's very easy to get them set right. Follow this informative LED configuration guide to understand how your LEDs work and how to get them shining right!
The parts that come with the GTFO kit are;
- The Thor301 with a GT mounting plate
The Thor is mounted via M3 Allen screws, the plate is mounted via M2 Allen screws.
- The GTFO 12v RGB lighting kit
A 12v RGB status bar. LED count 10. Is an adapter for the power button and potential can-bus from the rear (can-bus currently unsupported).
A 12v RGB front status bar. LED count 14.
A 12v RGB rear bar. LED count 15.
The LEDs on Thor's work in a chain; STATUS - FRONT - REAR. In this case most of the inputs are routed through the status bar itself.
A CANBUS port
- The VBMS
The VBMS is our newest smart bms- a collaboration between Fungineers and VESC. It is mounted on a breakout board designed for stock 18s Future Motion GT's.
Documentation and specs for the VBMS can be found here
- The Superflux HS / HT (optional, the Superflux will NOT work in an XRC frame as we don't currently have axle blocks for it)
- Superflux Mounting Blocks / Hardware kit for GT (optional)
- Superflux Female Connector (optional)
- A stock GT motor connector (optional)
- GTFO Tool Kit
Our kit also comes with a toolkit. It includes;
-A T9 Security Bit
-A 2mm S2 Hex Bit
-A T25 Security Bit
-A PH1 Phillips Bit
-A T20 Security Bit
-A Socket Wrench for these bits
-A Wrench for the Axle Bolts
