### Tips about the X7 design;

* The X7 is build around the original XR form factor. **(Not related to the XRC)** Most accessories for this discontinued board type is compatible, check out our documentation on that [here](https://fungineers.crisp.help/en/article/compatible-parts-for-the-x7-1nam4hm/).
* The X7 and all it's parts are fastened together with **METRIC** screws, meanwhile a lot of XR accessories are **IMPERIAL**- __**_DO NOT MIX THESE SCREWS_**__. Metric and Imperial screws look the same and might initially thread, but they're just different enough that they'll destroy each others threads. Make sure you use the right screws in the right places.
* The X7 has a lot of different screw types; **M3, M5, and M8 bolts, and a bunch of different lengths.** When assembling an X7, be mindful of the lengths of your screws and the places they go into. Too long of a screw can puncture a lid or cut a harness, too short of one won't hold the pieces together. Check out this [3D Screw Holder print](https://www.printables.com/model/1636186-bolt-organiser-x7-specific), it'll help you keep track of your screws.
* Our production of boards just recently switched from **HEX screws to TORX screws**- be prepared for both screw types as you work on your board.
