# VFBMS 32 Documentation

# The VFBMS32 (or VBMS) is a BMS made by Benjamin Vedder from VESC and Fungineers. This is a highly sophisticated, charge only, Smart BMS module with Bluetooth and Canbus communications.

# Important SET UP information;

* **__*ENABLE "BLOCK SLEEP" ON FIRST CONNECTION*__* ***- If you don't have this enabled, the VBMS will never wake up upon the initial connection. Make sure this is disabled afterwards.
* **CONNECTION ORDER**- Battery XT30 first, followed by the balance leads LOWEST to HIGHEST. **__*YOU MUST CONNECT EVERYTHING UNDER 30s for the BMS TO INITALIZE! *__** Temp sensors and CAN connections have no connection order preference / timer.
* **DISCONNECTION ORDER** - Balance leads HIGHEST to LOWEST first, followed by the Battery XT30. No timer here, and the peripheral wires don't have a preference.
* You may need to set up your **IC CHIP** values and **TEMP SENSORS** according to your pack.
* Update your BMS by reflashing the **FIRMWARE** first, then the **VBMS 32 MICRO PACKAGE**.
* To be able to see your BMS data thru CAN on your Thor/ Controller, please go to Motor Config > BMS > and set it to VESC BMS, and Write the settings.
* If pairing a VBMS32 to a Thor300, you must; ***Match 5V to 5V, GND to GND, Can H (high) to CAN P (positive), and CAN L (low) to CAN N (negative)***
